The 11 International Visiting Scholars from 11 countries, including UK, Spain, Zambia, Nigeria, USA, Indonesia, Russia, Nepal, South Africa, Pakistan and South Korea, have successfully completed their research in Shanghai Open University from October 31st to November 11th, 2016. During the program, the scholars have exchanged ideas and shared the best practice with 3 functional departments and 4 colleges of SOU. They also paid the on-site visit to 3 branch schools including Yangpu Branch School, Qingpu Branch School and Xuhui Branch School. They also took part in the 2 seminars on Education for Disabled People, and The Quality Assurance of ODL, during which, they had a full discussion with faculties and students from SOU. Moreover, the International Visiting Scholars also participated in the International Conference on Leadership and Innovation for the Future in Open and Distance Learning, and some of the scholars also made presentations and chaired the parallel session of the conference.
On the closing ceremony, the International Visiting Scholars made comments and reflections on the program. They all expressed their gratitude to SOU and promised that they will try their best to promote the cooperation between SOU and their home institutions.
