The delegation of Universitas Terbuka in Indonesia Visited Shanghai Open University

From May 21st to 24th, a delegation of Universitas TerbukaUTin Indonesia visited Shanghai Open University (SOU). Relevant personnel from the Institute of International Exchange and departments including the Information Construction and Management Office, the Department of Academic Education, the Quality Assurance and Evaluation Center, and the Learning Resources Center of SOU participated in the exchange activities.

The five delegates are from Information Science Department. Multimedia Learning Material Production Center, Accounting Department, Agri-business Department, and Management Department of UT. During the 3-day activities, they have a further communication and discussion with faculties of SOU on the application of AI, immersive learning, quality assurance, student support services, learning resource development and examination systems.

UT (also known as the Open University of Indonesia) was established in 1984 and is the 45th national higher education institution in Indonesia. It specializes in providing distance open education and has been effective in expanding educational opportunities and enabling people from all walks of life to receive higher education. UT is committed to becoming a leading institution in the field of open and distance higher education, cultivating high-quality graduates with global competitiveness, and is also the host institution of the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU). The cooperation between UT and SOU can be traced back to more than 10 years ago, at least 5 scholars and 10 students from UT have been sponsored to attend SOU’s Immersion Hub Programs for international scholars and students.
