The Delegation of Kenya Open University and Moi University Visited Shanghai Open University

Caroline Omulando, Vice Chancellor of the Kenya Open University (KOU), Josphat Igadwa Mwasiagi, Programs Director of KOU, and Masibo Lumala, Dean of the Institue of Open and Distance Learning at Moi University (MU), visited Shanghai Open University (SOU) on September 9. Ms. Zhang Jin, Vice President of SOU, and the relevant colleagues of Information Office and Institute of International Exchange attended the discussion and exchange activities.

On behalf of SOU, Ms. Zhang warmly welcomed the visit of the delegation and shared the achievements and experiences of SOU in its 64 years of existence. She said that SOU is willing to work hand in hand with KOU and MU to promote the modernization of education in China and Kenya, and to contribute to the high-quality construction of a community with a shared future for China and Africa.

Caroline highly appreciated the achievements of SOU. She pointed out that the running experience of SOU provides valuable reference and inspiration for KOU, and expected that both sides can carry out closer and deeper cooperation in the future.

The two sides had in-depth exchanges on topics of common concern, such as professional discipline construction, exchange programs, international Chinese language education, and how to use artificial intelligence and digital education innovation to promote the improvement of teachers' ability. The delegation also visited the Smart Learning Center of SOU, experienced the digital teaching environment and the application of educational technology, and further deepened their knowledge and understanding of SOU's educational innovation practice.
