On November 25, six African experts and scholars on Distance Education from South Africa, Swaziland, Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria came to Shanghai Open University for research and exchanges. The exchange activity is a follow- up to the 2013 focal point meeting of UNESCO-China-African Tripartite Initiative on University Cooperation which President of Shanghai Open University Professor Jiang Hong attended and part of the International Staff Exchange Fellowship Program of SOU in year 2013.
Institute of International Exchange (IIE) held commencement ceremonies November 3rd, awarding 31 bachelor’s degrees and 54 associate bachelor’s degrees and diplomas in business administration as part of the Shanghai Open University’s joint program with the Southern Cross University of Australia.
On 10th October, Professor Claudia Cunha from Anima Education Group – GAEC of Brazil was invited to Shanghai Open University, and started her work as a 3-week visiting scholar.
The Shanghai Open University International Student Exchange Program, hosted by the Institute of International Exchange at SOU, successfully concluded at Guoshun Campus on the morning of August 23, 2013. 24 international students from 12 countries and 10 universities, including the Open University of Netherlands, The Open University in UK, Dublin City Univeristy, Universitadegli Studi Guglielmo Marconi, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, etc. participated in the event.
