The second Shanghai Open University International Student Exchange Program has brought 40 international students from 16 countries to SOU campus for a two-week intensive study and experience on Chinese language and culture between August 17th and 29th. Shanghai Open University (SOU) and University of Maine (Fort Kent) (UMFK) met for the first time via video conference between Shanghai and Fort Kent on May 29th to discuss issues in regard to collaborations between two universities. On November 25, six African experts and scholars on Distance Education from South Africa, Swaziland, Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria came to Shanghai Open University for research and exchanges.
